      The article offers information on a workshop for lesson writers on the development of self-learning materials hosted by the Institute of Rail Transport (IRT) of New Delhi, India from August 4 to 6, 2007. Professor Madhulika Kaushik and doctor Sanjaya Mishra served as the coordinators of the workshop. It notes that the workshop aimed to educate participants on how to explain salient features of distance education as well as determine the learning design features of self-learning materials.
