IGNORANCE IS NEITHER BLISS NOR ETHICAL.

The article discusses the impact of unwarranted censorship on social science and humanities research. The ethics review committees state that they exert efforts to eliminate the abuse of subjects in researches. The author states that researchers are considered victims of meaningless rules implemented by the Institutional Review Boards (IRB) in the U.S. than the cause of dangerous research. Hence, the author argues that if researchers can adapt to IRB regulations it is a very necessary first step toward other reforms.
