The article presents information on audiobooks. Teachers in the U.S. use audiobooks for shared reading to provide a more genuine experience during Black History Month and other multicultural celebrations. An easy-to-read history book by Eileen Lucas "Cracking the Wall: The Struggles of the Little Rock Nine" tells the story of desegregation. School librarians are having a great success with Playaway, a brand of self-contained audiobooks that include the player. This is not suited for group use but librarians pointed out that it took a few weeks for the students to understand how to use the players. It is stated that the audiobooks have become so attractive that many publishers are expanding to include audio alternatives.
