      The article reports on the move of dermatologists to seek new alternatives to the popular skin-lightening agent due to federal restriction for hydroquinone in the U.S. Pharmaceuticals and cosmetics are converging into the cosmeceutical arena concerning skin brightening as well as more clinical concepts such as lightening. Dermatologists use experience and anecdote evidence to place hydroquinone alternatives including the categories of prescription products, botanical agents, and antioxidants.
