      The article focuses on pharmaceutical policy within the context of compulsory health insurance in Germany. In particular, structural reform in the regulation of pharmaceutical drugs is examined. Financial aspects of Germany's state health care system and health insurance are considered. The German "Arzneimittelgesetz" (AMG; pharmaceutical law) is evaluated and its relevance is discussed.
