    • Abstract:
The article reports that the Asian American Theater Festival is attempting to prove that the old stereotypes are not necessarily required for the current generation of Asian-American playwrights and actors. Ralph Pena, whose Ma-Yi Theater Company is one of the organizers of the festival, which runs June 11-24, 2007 in New York City, says that there is a philosophical and aesthetic shift away from the way Asian-American theatre was constructed in the 1970s.
