It is stated that turning movie theaters into entertainment hubs could still be a hard sell. In Spain, Cinegames recently began testing a system at the company's Yelmo Cineplex in Madrid, spending more than $390,000 to retrofit a small theater, equipping each of its 50 seats with a 17-inch screen and game pad. In Canada, TimePlay Entertainment spent years developing a system that lets moviegoers using touchscreen devices compete with each other in interactive, ad-sponsored games projected on the big screen.
