The article relates the author's views on the importance of managing expectations. According to the author, to manage expectations effectively, one has the need to pay attention to four issues, including product, process, roles and relationship. He stresses that managing expectations about product goes beyond simply keeping clients informed about what features will be in and what will be out. The author also noted that clients do not want to know and are equipped to understand the fine points of process, they only need to understand how progress is measured and reported.
