      In this article the author discusses the elements that went into the 2007 redesign and renovation of the children's room at the Nyack, New York, public library. The canvassing of library users for opinions and ideas for the new facility, an initiative undertaken by library director James Mahoney and the design firm PSA Dewberry, is described. The part played in the plan by a mural created by children's book author Peter Sis is evaluated.
