The article reports that older women with osteoporosis who receive annual infusions of zoledronic acid have one-third as many spinal fractures as women in the control group, according to a study published in the "New England Journal of Medicine." The yearly infusion will insure complete compliance with the drug regimen and does not require the same restrictions to prevent side-effects as oral medications.
