- Abstract: The article focuses on the events surrounding the arrest and torture of Canadian technology consultant Maher Arar. Reportedly, the Syrian-born Canadian citizen was returning home from a vacation in September 2002 when he was detained by U.S. federal agents in New York City and sent to Syria to be interrogated. The author comments on the U.S. President George W. Bush administration's failure to accept any responsibility for the crimes against an innocent man.
