    • Abstract:
The article offers medical treatment when a woman in labor has an overdistended uterus or symphysisfundal height more than expected for the period of gestation. During diagnosing, it is claimed that if one fetus is felt on abdominal examination, then there can be an excess of amniotic fluid or a single large fetus. To manage the situation, health care providers are advised to anticipate and prepare for prolonged and obstructed labor and monitor progress of amniotic fluid using a partograph.
