      The article reports on the work graphic artist Saul Steinberg did with letterheads for the Smithsonian museum in Washington, D. C. Steinberg's biographical information is provided along with a description of his artistic style. As the first artist-in-residence at the Smithsonian, Steinberg's interaction and work contract with former Secretary of the Smithsonian S. Dillon Ripley is reported. Steinberg's work with the most prominent Smithsonian building, the Castle, became the basis for many of his drawings. The works are on display at the Smithsonian American Art Museum through June 24, 2007.
