A biography of Dmitrii Grigor'evich Zvyagintsev, head of the Department of Soil Biology in Moscow State University, is presented. He was born in Moscow, Russia, and graduated from the Department of Soil Biology of Moscow State University. As the head of the department, he has created a school of soil microbiologists and ecologists, and shaped a new profile in training specialists in the field of soil biology.
