      The article discusses a study which examined the effect of a specific level of achievement upon an individual's evaluations of his performance when the achievement is relative to a level of aspiration established by a group. The authors of the study examined the degree to which study participants said they were concerned about the team's expectations while they had been working on their individual tasks. The findings of the study supported a level of aspiration set by a group for its members is more often accepted by a member as a personal goal when the activity is relevant to the group than when it is non-relevant.
