    • Abstract:
The article focuses on the effort of American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers, in addressing the issue of daylight-saving time (DST) transition in the U.S. To cope with changes brought by the DST shift to its systems, the American Red Cross hired a new chief technology officer Nida Davis Roemer to concentrate on all aspects of the conversion work. Roemer set up a 16-person team including a project manager and a systems architecture specialist. The team reviewed, updated and tested the wide assortment of hardware and software of the organization.
