- Abstract:
The author considers raising expatriate children. His family has lived in France since his children were babies, and they consider Paris home. He flies an American flag on the Fourth of July, but the children have little more knowledge of American history than their peers do. He worries sometimes about this knowledge gap, but comforts himself with their knowledge of French history.
