Abstract: We investigate f-electron charge response in the two-impurity Anderson model. Using the Wilson numerical renormalization group, we find that the f-electron charge susceptibility is enhanced or diverges at the quantum critical point of the two-impurity Anderson model. This result supports one of scenarios for the residual resistivity anomaly seen in some heavy fermion compounds at around the pressure where the Néel temperature and the Kondo temperature merge with each other due to the competition between the formation of the Kondo–Yosida singlet and the small antiferromagnetic moment in strongly correlated electron systems.
