    • Abstract:
The article presents an author's insights about Bill Gates statement regarding what Microsoft Corp. pays the holders of H1-B visas in the U.S. Based on an analysis provided by critic Robert Oak and Ron Hira, an assistant professor of public policy at the Rochester Institute of Technology, only 3.3 percent of the 1,202 total green card applications submitted by Microsoft had wages above $100,000. However, Microsoft compensates its H-1B workers at the same levels as workers in the country, and at levels above the government set prevailing wages of each occupation.
