    • Abstract:
The article discusses a study which was conducted to test the hypothesis derived from Leon Festinger's theory of cognitive dissonance. The theory stated that a strong consideration in the likelihood of occurrence of the event must be possessed by people who exert a great deal of effort in preparation for a possible future event, than people who do not have to engage in effortful preparatory activity. In the dissonance introduced in the study, three ways on how to reduced it are elaborated. Information regarding the methods and analysis used in the study as well as the result is discussed.
