    • Abstract:
This article provides information on the report, Commuting in America III, published by the National Academies' Transportation Research Board in the U.S. The report examines the trends in commuting patterns in the U.S. It reveals that commuting patterns continue to evolve in complex and often surprising ways. Demographic factors that affect commuting patterns are the declining influence of the baby boom generation and the simultaneous advent of a large immigrant population joining the workforce.
