The article reports that bakeries in Chicago, Illinois are worried over what will come out of the debate to ban the use of trans fats in their confectionary. Linked to higher cholesterol, trans fats have drawn the ire of health activists here. Public pressure to purge trans fats, focused mostly on big fast-food chains like McDonald's Corp., is trickling down to bakeries as lawmakers target the substance and consumers question it.
