The article presents the study that determines the attitudes of white children towards Maoris in New Zealand. It aims to clarify the relationships between ethnic attitudes in the country and the variables of age and contact. It uses pictures depicted as Maori or white person. The pictures were presented to 120 white subjects at age levels 8, 12, and 16 years. The study concludes that unfavorable attitudes towards Maoris increase significantly among Auckland (HC) and Christchurch (LC) subjects between the ages of 8 and 12 years and increase among LC subjects between ages of 12 and 16 years.
