      The article relates the author's quest to understand his manic depression that led him on a journey through past generations and to a rediscovery of his father. The author states his obsession with history, or more precisely, with family history. His quest began in 2000, when he was 46 and fell into a nasty period of gloom that was officially diagnosed as a clinical depression. His research led to a book project of his own, and when the book was done, he went once more to the family graveyard.
