    • Abstract:
The article cites key research findings from the U.S. on thrombin testing and recurrent venous thromboembolism. Research findings indicate that patients who are at low risk for recurring venous thromboembolism can be identified through the use of a thrombin generation measurement. Patients such as these need to undergo indefinite anticoagulation therapy. The issues' implications for nursing are also cited.
