    • Abstract:
A definition of the term "interleukin-2" (IL-2) is presented. IL-2 are cytokines produced by activated T cells that serves as a regulator for certain hematopoietic cells including B cells and natural killer cells. IL-2 also regulates the immune response of T cells after an antigen encounter. The signal transducers and activators of transcription in oncogenesis pathway is one of the many signaling pathways activated by IL-2.
