This article discusses the renewed popularity of snow tires on sports cars. Special compounds and tread patterns are designed into the tires to increase the manageability of vehicles over wet snowy roads in winter months. Automakers are also developing vehicles, which have improved power and potential for handling driving in the winter weather conditions. The Rubber Manufacturers Association discusses forecasted shipments of high performance tires during the course of the 2006-2007 winter season.
