- Abstract:
The article presents information related to the letters written by lepers who were isolated by the government of Hawaii in 1865. Countless people suffering from leprosy were put away on the secluded peninsula of Kalaupapa on the island of Molokai in Hawaii. The captured people wrote letters to the local newspapers giving an account of their plight. However, these letters, written in their native tongue, were never collected or reviewed.
