    • Abstract:
The article presents the author's views on media centers' role in academic achievement of schools. The author says that the media center in schools should be a center of learning for staff as well as students. Media centers can support academic achievement if schools fulfill some requirements. A media center should be headed by a media specialist or a full-time resource teacher. Funding of new books at a media center should be a priority. Principals, however, has to play a critical role.
