      The article offers information on the workshop entitled "Quality Assurance in Distance Education on Agriculture and Rural Development," organized by the School of Agriculture and Rural Development (SARD) of the Bangladesh Open University (BOU) and held at the Regional Resource Centre in Dhaka, Bangladesh on March 29, 2005. BOU vice chancellor M. Ershadul Bari emphasized the importance of quality in the development of education. The recommendations for SARD learning programmes are outlined.
