- Abstract:
This article reports on the controversy surrounding Canadian Byron Smith's ascent of Mount Everest in Nepal. The team that climbed with him was disgruntled with Smith's ego in documenting the climb and their dissatisfaction of the expedition has fed rumors that Smith never actually reached the summit. The seven Sherpas who were a part of Smith's group, swear that the climber did summit Everest, and despite their solid reputations, their comments are not believed by those in the alpine community.
