      The article reports on the development of a new high performance V6 diesel engine by VM Motori SpA in Cento, Italy. The new 3-liter twin-overhead camshaft 60 degrees diesel engine will have a compacted graphite iron cylinder block, and will be incorporated into the next generation Opel and Vauxhaull Vectra models. The newly developed diesel engines comes 13 years after Opel first used CGI cylinder blocks in motorsport gasoline engines.
