    • Abstract:
The article discusses how speech-pathologists must work in a similar manner to how art investigators research paintings in that they need to use a variety of tools to decode actions, whether verbal or non-verbal. Researchers must be focused on culturally fair assessments and ethnographic studies. Decoding also includes assessing each case by identifying a child's strengths and weaknesses, as well as interviewing all important individuals and observing them in multiple settings.
