      The article reports on the appointment of quantum physicist Yakir Aharonov as a faculty member of the George Mason University in Virginia. Aharonov will continue his research in quantum mechanics and assist in the quantum-computing program, which the university says is the first doctoral program of its kind in the world. Aharonov, who previously held appointments at Tel Aviv University and the University of South Carolina, says he is excited to work in the Washington area because it has emerged as a center for quantum studies.
