This article provides information about the book "Educational Publishing in Global Perspective: Capacity Building and Trends," edited by Shobhana Sosale. This book contains thirty-one papers, presented at a seminar held in September 1997 at World Bank headquarters in Washington. D.C., which explore the nature of the educational book industry. The paper focuses on policies for the long-term provision of educational materials, finance and book trade issues, procurement, protection, and copyright issues, the role of publishing partnerships and the role and place of electronic publishing in developing countries.
