Wildlife biologists announced in 1981 that the blackfooted ferret, thought to have been extinct, was discovered to be living in Wyoming. Rains collapsed the Arno River's embankment in 1966, flooding Florence (Italy), killing 40 people, and destroying millions of rare books and works of art.
