A Visual Telling of Immigrants' Stories.

The author discusses the making of the "Crossing Borders" multimedia project. "Crossing Borders" is a storytelling project which details the experiences of women immigrants in the U.S. Interviews of immigrants are conducted to make the project which are released on print and online. Included in the project is the 44-minute documentary "Women Crossing Borders" that was aired on CLTV station of Tribune Co. Some of the women interviewed for the documentary have not been identified for safety reasons. Several reporters, photographers and videographers are involved in the project, including Steve Franklin, Mark Hinojosa, Heather Stone, Bradley Piper, Andrea Darlas and the author himself. While the project has been successful as a whole, some disappointments are encountered by the creators.
