    • Abstract:
The article reports on the debate on whether authorized generics be allowed in the market within the 180-day generic exclusivity period in the U.S. The issue heated up over a study released by Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA), concluding that authorized generics could lower prices of medicines and generate savings to the health care system. The Generic Pharmaceutical Association refuted this in saying that the PhARMA study is flawed and was done in bad taste.
