- Abstract:
The article offers tips for livestock breeders in surviving the drought in the U.S. According to Greg Lardy, a beef nutritionist from the North Dakota State University, the problem of these breeders during drought is they keep on wishing it will go away instead of making quick decisions that are crucial. One strategy suggested by Jack Whittier, a beef specialist from the Colorado State University Extension, is to wean earlier the calves since they get along very well in the feeding system during droughts.
