Is criminal practice impervious to logic?: R v Hayter.

The court hearings, trial proceedings and the verdict delivered in the case of R v. Hayter are described and discussed. The article describes how this particular case questioned the inadmissibility of a defendant's confession in prosecuting a co-defendant in jointly tried criminal cases. While the author concedes that there is logic for the original decision the jury's decision to allow this evidence was also sensible in this particular case.
