    • Abstract:
The article presents some facts about the risk of women for cardiovascular disease (CVD). A woman's risk of CVD and myocardial infarction is about the same as a man's by age 65. Women over age 65 are four to six times more likely to die of CVD than breast cancer. Young women can also be at risk of CVD because of heredity, smoking, dyslipidemia, hypertension, physical inactivity and obesity. Women should have less than 100 mg/dL level for low-density lipoprotein cholesterol.
