      The article discusses the correlation between interest and ability of school subjects by school children in the U.S. Several pupils linked arithmetic better than reading. Thus, a clear relation between interest and ability among those who preferred reading. Moreover, similarity were found on both sexes as to their preference in a certain subjects in elementary education.
