- Abstract:
The article discusses the study on decentralization policy of education that was adopted by the government and the emergence of Islamization in the school system in northern Philippines. The country has been divided into several islands which result to diverse cultures, beliefs and ideologies. The Mindanao region homes most of the Muslim Filipinos in the country which are dedicated to their practice. Despite the government's effort to centralize the political system, diverse cultures pushes it to consider the localization type of education. Muslim leaders in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao initiated the plan to reorient public education in the region through its program called Project Madrasa Education.
