- Abstract:
The article presents an analogy between A. A. Michelson's discovery of ether and the approach of solving the energy crisis. Even though it was concluded that ether does not exist, Michelson still attempts to experimentally demonstrate the ether. Due to this, ether concept was reexamined by physicists Paul Dirac in 1951 and de Broglie in 1959. Ether is now called the "neutrino sea" and has been characterized as an energy-rich particulate, subquantic medium. The author states that scientists should reexamine the nuclear fusion the way Michelson did on ether. He emphasized Hackermann's argument that even long standing natural laws are subjected to alteration in the light of fuller understanding. He believes that there are other approach in solving energy crisis.
