    • Abstract:
The article reports that Great Britain's Department of Health (DoH) is planning to break away from the Central Office of Information (COI) for its communications research needs. The DoH's preparatory research for marketing campaigns is currently carried out through the COI. It is now setting up its own communications research roster so it can run the activity in-house. The research roster will also evaluate the effectiveness of its marketing and track media coverage of the DoH. The DoH spent £28m on advertising in 2005-2006.
