      The article provides information about chronic kidney disease (CKD). Some studies suggest that 1 out of 10 patients will be diagnosed with CKD under the new Quality and Outcomes Framework guidelines. Initial assessment of patients with frequent complications is recommended under the required testing frequency. Moreover, all patients with stages 4 and 5 CKD should be referred immediately with a nephrologist and be offered the options of renal replacement therapy.
