      In this article the author, a journalist, describes her 4 interrogation sessions by authorities of the Republic of Dagestan in the south of Russia. She was questioned several times, berated and told to admit to crimes she did not commit. The author realized that her being detained was an attempt on the part of Dagestan to intimidate journalists and to demonize the West.
