    • Abstract:
The article discusses the introduction of a novel experiment for chemistry laboratories to determine the total and individual metallic ions contents in commercial antacids through the use of complexometric titrations. Different experimental protocols have been conducted for the identification of the total aluminum and magnesium ion contents, the aluminum ion quantity and the magnesium ion quantity in antacids. The introduction of this experimental process has been designed to teach students regarding acid-base chemistry and back titration. Results showed the similarity of outputs from the usage of the three protocols in complexometric titrations and the obtained resolutions using spectrophotometry.
