    • Abstract:
The article analyzes events in Egypt and the United States before and after the signing of the renewal of diplomatic relations between the two countries at the ambassadorial level in November 1973. The reputation of US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger had a significant role in the agreement. Egyptian President Anwar Sadat decided in October 1973 to agree to a cease-fire to his country's fight against Israel to improve relations with the United States. Sadat's actions to enhance rapport with the United States are described.
