The article focuses on the significance of trusted functionality on operating systems. Trusted operating systems have been used in the past to lock down the most classified and confidential information in an organization. Several computer companies are already functionality in their mainstream products. The author evaluates different kinds of operating systems with trusted functionality from several companies including Sun Microsystems Inc. and its Solaris 10, Red Hat Inc. and SELinux, Novell Inc. and AppArmor.
